A letter from Hugh Williamson '64

Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Jay Kelley and a group of Falcon scholars.

I have been associated with the Falcon Foundation since the mid-1980s and served in several different positions, most recently as the vice chairman of the Foundation. I have been and continue to be most impressed with the mission and execution of the mission to include the lean and effective management of the funds and the scholarships in support of USAFA.

More recently I also joined the USAFA Endowment Board and had the pleasure of sitting next to former CSAF Gen. Mark Welsh, also a Falcon Scholar. Mark attended Wentworth Military Academy as a Falcon and has been extremely clear about what a great difference it has made in his life and career.

As we know, the Academy has had five graduates become CSAF and the last two, Mark and Gen. Dave Goldfein, are both Falcon Scholars. That’s 40%! This convinces me that there is bang for the buck with the Falcon Foundation and why I gave generously in support of the Foundation, which in turn provides extraordinary support direct to the Academy.

Join me in investing in the future of our Air Force! A number of individuals, including '64 classmates, have used a charitable transfer directly from an IRA or have arranged a future legacy gift through their will or trust.
